The improver paddling course is based on the Moray Coast or West of Scotland (or further afield), and focusses on developing skills for true independence on the sea. You will have completed an introduction course and will have developed skills and knowledge during club or peer paddles. You will feel ready to take more responsibility for planning and becoming independent in sea conditions of up to Force 3 winds and 1 knot of tidal flow. You will enjoy exploring amongst the rocks and managing swell, making your own decisions about safety and tactics.

What you need to take
This course is for those who have their own paddling equipment and therefore you should take your own. Consider this kit list before deciding what to bring.
If you do need equipment an additional cost will be applied of £60 pp. This can be selected at checkout.
Requirements
This is for paddlers looking to build up to intermediate level and those considering the Sea Kayak or Coastal Sea Kayak Award. Requires a minimum of two booked to run the course.
Assessment for the Sea Kayak Award can be arranged if you feel ready, just request when booking.
Location
Generally paddling will take place on the Moray Firth but may move to take account of conditions.
